2024 Chinese New Year
The Chinese Lunar New Year begins on Saturday, February 10, 2024. It’s the year of the Wood Dragon. Each Chinese New Year is named after two aspects found in nature. Wood is one of the Five Elements and the Dragon is one of the twelve animal signs of the zodiac. The pairing of these two aspects occurs every sixty years and is thought to have great influence over those born under this sign.
Wood element
Wood corresponds to the season of spring, to the liver and gallbladder meridians, to birth, growth, creativity, planning and beneficence. When the wood element is thwarted, anger is the emotion.
Zodiac Dragon
The Dragon’s character is one of intelligence and power. Dragons also have an abundance of energy.
People born in the year of the Wood Dragon tend to be ambitious and confident. They are often recognized as being naturally gifted. On the downside, they can be arrogant and irritable. Of the twelve animals in the Chinese Zodiac, the dragon is the only one that is imaginary. At least we think it’s imaginary.
