Rolfing and Yoga – what’s the connection?

While yoga has been around for over 5,000 years, Dr. Ida Rolf, a biochemist from the Bronx began to develop Rolfing in the 1920’s. Over the course of 30 years she formed this unique bodywork technique that stretches and repositions the connective tissue wrappings of muscles to enhance breath, posture, alignment and movement. This ancient Chinese practice uses movement and meditation to cultivate health throughout life’s journey. Our focus is to return to a state of balance and harmony within the body, mind and heart.

While liberating shortened, adhered fascial wrappings, muscles are repositioned so that they work in synchronicity with other muscles to provide healthy joint movement.

Here are some psoas stretches from several different disciplines. Always stay inside the pain free range.
