David Frome

David’s lifetime interest in holistic health began when he was a teenager, studying yoga and massage in a progressive high school. Although he was sure he wanted a career in alternative healthcare, he recognized that a solid grounding in western medicine was the first step. He entered the physical therapy program at New York University and graduated, achieving New York and New Jersey State physical therapy licensure.

Diploma in hand, he was ready to pursue what he was passionate about. Determined to learn all he could about spines, he then went on to study with Robin McKenzie and John Menell. This path led him to explore Rolfing, the discipline that could best address issues of posture and alignment.

In 1986, David graduated from the Rolf Institute after studying the Rolfing Technique of Structural Integration with Stacy Mills and Jim Asher. He then studied at The Guild for Structural Integration to further develop his skills and become an Advanced Rolfer. There he studied with Peter Melchior and Emitt Hutchins. David has been practicing Rolfing for over 25 years.

In 2002, David followed his interest in eastern medicine, becoming a practitioner of Five Element Acupuncture. He graduated from the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and now delights in integrating eastern and western approaches. David is a Worsley-style Five Element Acupuncturist and is developing a new approach to acupuncture based on Dr. Worsley’s teachings and David’s intimate knowledge of structure.

David has worked with infants, babies and children with orthopedic and neurodevelopmental problems. He has also specialized in spinal problems. Today, he approaches healing with a rich background, combining traditional and nontraditional approaches.

In addition to his private practices in New York and New Jersey, David is on the faculty of The Eastern school of Acupuncture in Montclair, New Jersey.
